California Bar Examination

A guide to give students resources to prepare for the California State Bar Examination. Included in this guide are materials on admission, essays, performance tests, MBE (multi-state exam), and MPRE (multi-state professional responsibilities exam), etc.

General Information

This portion of the exam is an objective six-hour test containing 200 questions, which is divided into two three-hour sessions during which 100 questions are administered.  The MBE tests six subjects: Constitutional Law, Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts.

This component comprises 35% of the total score.  There are 190 possible raw points for the 200 questions as 10 are not graded.
