Introduction
This research guide aims to give students a basic overview of the major cases which have helped shape American jurisprudence. This list is combined from two lists using two separate methodologies: the first is how many times a case has been cited by the court (or elsewhere), and the second is how pervasively these cases appear in major treatises on American constitutional law. This guide is not intended for any specific research purpose and should not be considered comprehensive for any research area. If you need assistance with any aspect of legal research please speak with a law librarian at the reference desk.
