Journalist, lawyer, and human rights advocate Shadi Sadr received the Alexander Prize on November 11, 2010, for her tireless work on behalf of women in Iran. Before she was presented with the prize, Ms. Sadr spent some time on the Santa Clara University campus, talking with faculty and students. This guide is a brief introduction to English language sources about some of the issues she discussed and to the legal and human rights organizations working on behalf of women in Iran.
See Professor Beth Van Schaack’s posting on IntLawGrrls regarding Ms. Sadr, who is also a recipient of the International Women of Courage Award (2010) and the Ida B. Wells Award for Bravery in Journalism (2004).
